Stig is a character in Edge of Extinction and serves as an antagonist to the Tromstad survivors. He is first mentioned in Episode 5 and makes his first appearance in Episode 6. In Episode 7, he either gets killed or captured by the survivors.
History[]
Joseph Mboya and David once noticed him spying on them while they were out on patrol but didn't think much of the encounter due to them not speaking to each other. He shows his hostility at the end of Episode 5 when he destroys the boat the survivors intended to use to get to the Stalvard Seed Vault and leaves them a threatening message in a decapitated wolf's mouth.
In Episode 6, the survivors decide to leave food out for him given Joseph believed that he may have eaten something contaminated which would have caused his mental health to deteriorate. When you, Anna, and David go to check on him the next day, he immediately opens fire and ends up killing David. When Pavel shows up, the Hermit tries to flee and ends up wounding you with a bullet to the shoulder before escaping.
Appearance[]
His eyes are blue and he has a fair complexion. At first, he has a long, grey unkempt beard but if you capture him, his appearance will change. He will shave off his beard entirely and cut his hair short, which is slicked neatly over his head.
He is shown wearing a fur-trimmed coat and a red hat with goggles but again, If you capture him, his appearance will change and he will wear a dark blue gilet, over a patterned light brown sweater and a blue shirt with collar.
Personality[]
He is initially shown to be delusional and psychotic as a result of the contaminated food. In his threatening note to the survivors, he openly refers to them as demons and accuses them of hunting him. The only person he seems to care about is Mari given that he accuses your group of kidnapping her and her unborn child and expresses concern for her safety.
If you capture him, he will get out of his delusion and apologize for everything that he has done and show the will to prove himself to the group. He will distance himself from the hermit he was, as shown when he speaks of the hermit himself as if it was a different person.

Your Character[]
It is up to you to decide what happens to him - if he is killed or captured. If you capture him alive, the group will help him regain reason. It is also up to you how to behave toward him from then on, if you blame him for the death(s) of David and Pavel or not. Depending on choices, your relationship with him will improve. He will help you find the husky in Episode 7.
Mari[]
If you managed to capture Stig and integrated him into the group, he will deliver Mari's baby in Episode 8 and thereby save both their lives despite not having much practical experience delivering babies.
