Hay Guise is a character in The X Files.

History[]

Hay Guise claims to be the founder of the Magic Bullets, although this claim is hard to substantiate due to the secrets nature of the group. They say the initial intention of the Magic Bullets was to use their hacking abilities for important purposes, like Lone Gunmen [1] (who assisted Dana Scully and Fox Mulder in the original series), but that other members of the group turned to haming others for their own purposes.

When Cecil L'Ively begins murdering FBI employees, Hay Guise reaches out to Jessica Dexler in order to offer her information about the group and help her from preventing further killings by Magic Bullets members.

Appearance[]

Nothing is known of Hay Guise' true appearance. They cover their face in a plastic mask of a horse, from which they take their name.

Personality[]

Hay Guise has an offbeat, manic persona when speaking with Jess via video calls. However, it is difficult to determine if this is due to their real, underlying personality or simply the act they put on to obscure their identity, which Jess describes as a "wacky cartoon character."

Relationships[]

Jessica Dexler[]

Hay Guise presents themselves as an ally to Jess, although their "help" is often vague and frustrating, claiming that they want to prevent any further deaths. They have a tendency to hide information from Jess, often for childish reasons—for example, Hay Guise claims not to have told her that it was a Magic Bullet who freed Cecil L'Ively because they find it "embarrassing." Eventually, Jess can ask them to look up Elaine Knudsen, Gregory Pierce, or Walter Skinner, or the shadow groups who manipulated Dr. Oatman (among others).

Horror[]

Horror is a 'rogue' member of the Magic Bullets. Hay Guise dislikes the direction the group has gone (and especially the deaths resulting from their abuse of the X-Files) and seems thrilled to see Horror become upset when Dexler and Fulton thwarts Horror's plans.

Trivia[]

  • "Hay Guise" is a pun playing on "hey guys," a casual English greeting, as well at the mask (AKA guise) on the shape of a horse (a hay-eating animal).
