Dr. Bennet Hill is a character in The X Files.

History[]

Dr. Hill was once a successful therapist. Once the recession began, he was hit by a number of financial misfortunes, including his employer declaring bankruptcy and his financial planner robbing all of her clients before disappearing. Although Dr. Hill took his losses in stride, they proved too stressful for his wife, who took her own life by drowning.

After his wife's death, Dr. Hill forswore material possessions and became voluntarily homeless, a state he sees as freeing him from selfishness and greed. He lived on the streets for an indeterminate number of years before he met Aaron Fulton, who saved him after a disturbed homeless man stabbed him without provocation. Thanks to Aaron's help, he either survived but developed anemia or escaped all majors health complications from his near-murder.

He now moves between shelters and camps as he pleases and enjoys the freedom that comes with his mobility. Fulton is his only client, and the two men meet up fairly regularly. When they do, Fulton offers food and companionship in exchange for counseling and personal advice.
